At 30 Day Weather Forecast ("we", "our", or "the App"), we respect your personal privacy. A. Location Data (GPS & Geocoding)

The App requests permission to access your device's approximate and/or precise location (GPS coordinates). This information is used strictly in real-time to:

  • Retrieve localized meteorological forecasts, temperature observations, and hourly timelines from the Open-Meteo weather API.
  • Display the user's current geographic position on the interactive Doppler weather radar map.
  • Perform reverse-geocoding to display the human-readable city or administrative locality name.
Important: Your precise GPS coordinates are never stored on external company servers, tracked across third-party websites, or sold to advertising data brokers. Geolocation queries are ephemeral and processed on-device.

B. Device Preferences & Local Storage

We use local device storage (Android SharedPreferences) to store your customized app settings directly on your hardware, including:

  • Measurement preferences (Celsius vs. Fahrenheit, km/h vs. mph vs. m/s, millimeters vs. inches).
  • Theme appearance (Light Sky, Dark Atmosphere, or System Default).
  • Saved custom favorite cities and locations for quick weather checks.
  • Offline weather telemetry cache (cached for 30 minutes to facilitate rapid loading and battery efficiency).

C. In-App Purchase & Subscription Information

If you choose to subscribe to Weather Pro (Weekly, Monthly, or Annual access), transactions are conducted exclusively through the Google Play Store Billing API. We do not collect, view, or retain your payment card numbers, bank accounts, or billing addresses. Only transaction status tokens and receipt completion verification strings are processed to unlock premium features.

D. Diagnostic & Analytics Telemetry

We utilize Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application performance, track anonymous usage patterns, and resolve unexpected software errors. This telemetry includes non-personally identifiable diagnostic data such as device model, OS version, session duration, and anonymized IP addresses.

2. Third-Party Services We Rely Upon

To deliver world-class meteorological accuracy, the App communicates with reputable service providers bound by strict confidentiality and privacy obligations:

  • Open-Meteo GmbH: Open-source, privacy-first weather API delivering numerical weather prediction models (ECMWF, NOAA GFS). Queries are sent anonymously without tracking cookies.
  • Google Play In-App Billing: Handles secure subscription payments, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Google Firebase (Firebase Analytics): Monitors aggregate performance and operational health.
  • OpenStreetMap & CartoDB: Provides tile layers for interactive weather radar maps.

3. Children's Privacy

Our application is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt steps to remove such data.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because the App operates primarily using local on-device caching rather than requiring user account registration, most user data resides entirely on your device. You can erase all cached forecasts and saved preferences at any time by:

  • Opening the app > Settings > tapping "Clear Offline Forecast Cache".
  • Clearing the app storage in your Android device's Settings > Apps > 30 Day Weather > Storage > Clear Data.
  • Visiting our online Account & Data Deletion Request Page.

5. Your Legal Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may hold rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your diagnostic or customer support logs.
  • Revoke location permissions via your Android system permission manager.
  • Opt out of any future telemetry or diagnostics.
